The invoice is calculated and the PDF is created in your browser: no data leaves your device. Numbering and saved details are stored only in this browser.

This tool creates a PDF; it is not a certified invoicing software system (Verifactu). Check with your gestor (tax adviser).

What a Spanish invoice must include

Under Royal Decree 1619/2012 (art. 6), a full invoice includes the number and series, the issue date, the full name and address of both issuer and client, the issuer's tax ID (NIF, and the client's in the cases the decree lists), a description of each item with its unit price and the data needed for the taxable base, the VAT rate and the VAT amount, and the date of the supply if it differs from the issue date. Invoices are numbered consecutively within each series. If a line has 0% VAT, the invoice must state why (the exemption article or reverse charge).

VAT (IVA)

VAT is calculated on the taxable base of each rate: 21% standard, 10% reduced (hospitality, passenger transport, home renovation work…), 4% super-reduced (bread, books, medicines…) and 0% for exempt or out-of-scope supplies. This tool rounds each line to the cent and computes the VAT amount once per rate.

IRPF withholding: 15% or 7%

When a self-employed professional invoices a company or another freelancer, the client withholds income tax (IRPF) and pays it to the tax agency: 15% in general, or 7% in the year the activity starts and the two following years. There is no withholding when the client is a private individual, nor for most business (non-professional) activities. It is calculated on the taxable base (VAT excluded) and subtracted from the amount due.
